Dermalon™ sutures are monofilament, braided, inert, non-absorbable, sterile sutures composed of the long-chain aliphatic polymers Nylon 6 and Nylon 6.6. The braided sutures are coated uniformly with silicone to enhance handling characteristics, ease of passage through tissue, and reduction of capillarity.
The smoothness of monofilament nylon sutures gives a clinician the advantage of being easily removed from the tissue. The blue color of DERMALON™ provides visibility compared to other nylon sutures.
Dermalon™ sutures are for use in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including use in cardiovascular, ophthalmic, and neurological surgery. They meet all requirements established by the United States Pharmacopeia (USP) and the European Pharmacopeia (EP).
